London Metropolitan University is a modern and forward-looking institution. Its mission is: Transforming Lives, Meeting Needs, Building Careers. London Met has offered affordable quality education in the heart of the capital since 1848, making it one of London’s oldest educational institutions. The University has enjoyed a long tradition of royal Patronage which has endured since Prince Albert became Patron in 1850. Today, HRH The Duke of York is Patron of London Met.
London Met’s buildings are across three areas in the heart of the capital. All buildings are fully accessible by public transport and within walking distance of several stations. Campuses in the heart of the city include those near stations at Moorgate, Aldgate and Shoreditch: here fast-moving, high-flying financiers rub shoulders with artists attracted by the cultural industries of Brick Lane and East London. The University's north campus is just a short walk from Holloway, and Highbury and Islington stations: this area is well known for its wide range of restaurants, bars, beautiful parks and independent shops.
The University's primary concern when considering an application is that the candidate demonstrates potential to succeed on their chosen course. Entry requirements differ for each course and candidates are advised to visit course pages on the website for more details. Degree courses: students must be 18 or over; have GCSE grade C in English Language or key skills qualification level 3 or equivalent; GCSE grade C in Maths or equivalent in some cases.
